Friendly Reminders: Lost Property, Absences, Payments & Medication
A few quick updates to help keep things running smoothly for your child.
Lost Property
We would like to remind you to check the lost property boxes at school if your child has misplaced any belongings. There are two lost property boxes located on the school grounds—one in front of the office and another in front of the music room.
Items such as jackets, lunch boxes, hats, water bottles, and school supplies are often left in these boxes.
Since students sometimes forget to check or don’t realize their belongings are missing, we encourage you to take a moment to look through the boxes, especially if your child has mentioned losing something.
Labelling your child’s belongings clearly is a great way to help ensure lost items find their way back to your family.
There are several watches, headphones and wallets in our school office, which will be disposed/donated at the end of term if not collected.
.
Absences
To help us manage student absences efficiently, we kindly encourage you to notify the school before 8.50 am if your child will be absent. You can do this by emailing office@robertsonss.eq.edu.au or by recording the absence ahead of time using QParents.
We also encourage you to call our absentee line: (07) 3452 4166
If notice is not given before 8.50 am, your child will be marked as an unexplained absence, and you will receive a text message from the office.
Reply to the SMS: Please reply to the text confirming your child’s absence and provide a valid reason. You will receive a follow-up call if we have not received a response via SMS as the school is required by law (specifically, section 22 of the Education (General Provisions) Regulation 2017 External link) to notify you when your child is absent from school without explanation, and to seek a reason for the absence from the parent
A list of valid reasons for absences can be found here: https://education.qld.gov.au/initiativesstrategies/Documents/parent-fact-sheet.pdf
To help keep our office running smoothly in the busy morning period, we kindly ask that you avoid calling on the morning of the absence unless it is an emergent matter.
Payment Plan
We understand that managing school fees can sometimes be a challenge, and we want to support you in ensuring your child’s education remains a priority. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, we are happy to discuss a payment plan that works for your family’s circumstances. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our administration team to organize this.
Once your payment plan is in place, payments can be made via bank transfer. Here are the bank details for your reference:
Bank: CBA Branch Sunnybank
BSB: 064-162
Account Number: 00090377
Please remember to include your family name in the reference details when making a payment. This helps us apply payments accurately. If insufficient details are provided, payments will be applied to the oldest outstanding debt for your family.
We truly appreciate your commitment to your child’s education, and we are here to work with you to make the payment process as smooth as possible.
Medication
As we head into the warmer months of spring, we’re reminded that this time of year can bring about seasonal health challenges such as hay fever or eczema.
If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home to rest and recover. We also understand that some students may need to take medication during the school day to manage ongoing or short-term health needs.
For all medicine, you must give the school:
- A completed Consent to Administer Medication form (visit the office for a copy)
- The medicine in its original container (not removed from the box or bottle), with the pharmacy label showing your child’s name, the medicine name, dosage, and the doctor's name (not the pharmacist).
You are more than welcome to drop by the office for a conversation on how we can best support your child’s medication requirements during school time.
