Parents and caregivers must send children to school every school day under Queensland law unless there is an acceptable reason such as:

• illness
• doing work experience
• competing in school sporting events.

Letting us know your child will be away

If your child is going to be absent from school, you must let the school know why the absence has occurred within 2 school days of their return. If possible, it is best to advise the school beforehand by:

Avoid keeping your child away from school for reasons such as:

• birthdays
• shopping
• visiting family and friends
• if they sleep in
• looking after other children
• minor check ups or care, such as hair cuts.

Routine medical or other health appointments should be made either before or after school or during the school holidays.

If you are experiencing difficulty in sending your child to school, contact the school principal for advice and support.

Excursions

Please be advised that invoices will only be issued to families who have submitted the required consent forms. To ensure you receive your invoice in a timely manner, we kindly ask that all consent forms are returned by the specified due date.

If your family is experiencing financial hardship, we encourage you to contact the school office as soon as possible. This will allow us to arrange a suitable payment plan and ensure that your child is not disadvantaged.

Credit on account

If there is a credit on your family account, please email the office at office@robertsonss.eq.edu.au so that we can apply it accordingly. Please ensure that the remaining balance on the invoice is paid using the link on the invoice or on QParents after the credit has been applied. Kindly note that credits cannot be processed via QParents.

Payment via the office

Please note that the school office is only able to process payments between 8:00am and 10:00am. If you wish to make a payment outside of this time, we recommend using either the payment link provided on your invoice or QParents for your convenience.

Overdue: Prep - Year 3 Swimming Program

We’re excited to announce that our swimming program will be taking place during September and October! Just a friendly reminder that payment for swimming is now OVERDUE.

Prep Ngutana Lui Excursion

As part of our HASS unit "Special Places", students will be attending an excursion on Thursday, 6 November 2025, to deepen their understanding of the special places and cultural practices of the Yuggera people.

Students will experience traditional Aboriginal celebration activities, including storytelling through art using Aboriginal symbols and patterns, and will create their own take-home art piece. They will also learn about and try traditional instruments such as clap sticks, gum leaves, the didgeridoo, and the bull roarer.

A highlight will be participating in a traditional Aboriginal celebration performance, exploring the didgeridoo as both a musical instrument and a form of art.

Consent forms are due by Wednesday, 9 October 2025.

This will be a valuable cultural experience supporting students’ understanding of Indigenous heritage and traditions.
