A Massive Thank You to Our P&C

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to our remarkable Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association. Their tireless work and unwavering commitment are an integral part of what makes our school community so vibrant and successful.

The P&C plays a vital role in supporting our students and staff, and their efforts directly contribute to the rich learning environment we are so proud of. From the daily operations of the tuckshop and uniform shop to the organisation of major fundraising events, the P&C's dedication helps us provide a wealth of opportunities for our children. It's through their hard work that we can fund essential resources and projects that enhance the school experience for every student.

On that note, I want to give a special mention to the P&C for their incredible work in preparing for our biggest community event of the year: the Robertson State School Spring Fest! This annual festival is a true highlight on our calendar, and it simply would not be possible without the countless hours of planning, coordination, and effort from our P&C committee and volunteers.

The Spring Fest is not just a fundraiser; it's a celebration of our school spirit and a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and the wider community to come together. I encourage you all to join us tomorrow, Thursday, September 4th, from 3:15 pm to 8:00pm. Entry is free, and there will be something for everyone, including carnival games, exciting rides, delicious food, and live entertainment.

This event is a fantastic way to support our school while enjoying a fun-filled evening with your loved ones. Please consider lending a hand if you can. A few hours of your time volunteering at a stall or helping with set-up and pack-down makes a huge difference.

Thank you once again to the Robertson State School P&C for everything you do. Your contributions are deeply valued by our entire school community.

We look forward to seeing you at the Spring Fest!

Acknowledging Our Incredible Teacher Aides As we celebrate Teacher Aide Appreciation Week

I want to take this opportunity to shine a light on the incredible individuals who are the backbone of our school community: our dedicated teacher aides. Their quiet, tireless work is woven into the fabric of our daily operations, and their impact is truly immeasurable.

Every day, our teacher aides go above and beyond, working side-by-side with our teachers to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for every student. They are the friendly faces who offer one-on-one assistance, the patient mentors who help students with their social and emotional development, and the invaluable partners who ensure our classrooms run smoothly.

From providing individualised support to students with diverse learning needs to helping manage classroom activities and fostering a sense of belonging, our teacher aides are essential to the success of our school. Their dedication allows our teachers to focus on instruction and ensures that all students feel seen, supported, and capable.

This week, and every week, we are so grateful for their commitment, compassion, and hard work. Please join me in extending a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our amazing teacher aides. They make a profound difference in the lives of our students and are an integral part of what makes our school community so special.

Celebrating Speech Pathology Week 2025 – “Impact through Communication”

Last week was Speech Pathology Week 2025 (24-30 August). I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Joanne Stephen for the vital role that she plays in supporting student learning and wellbeing at Robertson State School, as our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).

This year’s theme,“Impact through Communication,” highlights the transformative power of communication and the profound impact SLPs have in helping students access the curriculum, build social connections, and thrive in their educational journey.

SLPs work to support students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs - often behind the scenes. Their expertise is essential in fostering inclusive learning environments and empowering students to reach their full potential. Thank you Ms Stephen ?

Report Card Review

In an endeavour to streamline our Robertson State School Report Card to make it more concise, the school has been consulting with the school P&C. Further consultation will continue at the next P&C meeting on Tuesday 16 September 2025. All parents are invited to attend.

Uniform Review

The school is currently working with our Robertson State School (RSS) P&C, to review our School Uniform Policy to align it with the Human Rights Act 2019. If you would like to be involved in the consultation process, please attend the next RSS P&C meeting on Tuesday 16 September 2025. We are hopeful that our new RSS Uniform Policy will be endorsed by the P&C at the October meeting.
