Free Vision Screening for Prep Students – Coming in August

We’re pleased to share that Queensland Health will be offering free vision screening for all Prep students at Robertson State School on Wednesday 20 August and Thursday 21 August 2025.

This quick and non-invasive check, conducted by trained health professionals during school hours, helps to identify any vision issues that could affect your child’s learning, behaviour, or development. Early detection is key, as untreated problems can lead to long-term vision difficulties.

Even if your child has already had a 4–5 year health check, we strongly encourage participation. The specialised screening equipment used may detect issues not picked up in standard checks.

What you need to do

Please review the two information flyers sent and complete the online consent form by Friday 20 June 2025. QR codes for registration can be found on posters outside Prep classrooms or paper copies of the form are available from the office.

If you have any questions or would prefer your child not to take part, feel free to email the school.

Under 8’s Day – Unleashing Scientific Thinking Through Play!

Get ready for a fun-filled morning celebrating early childhood at Under 8’s Day on Thursday 27 June from 9:00–11:00am! This year’s exciting theme is “Unleashing Scientific Thinking Through Play” — and we have a morning packed with games, creative activities, singing, dancing, and hands-on fun all designed to unleash our inner scientists. There will be food available for purchase provided by our wonderful P&C and cooked by Chappy Greg.

Students are welcome to wear free dress or come dressed as a scientist for the day!

It’s a fantastic opportunity for families of Prep to Year 2 students to come together and experience the joy of learning through play. Don’t miss this colourful celebration of curiosity, imagination, and community spirit – it’s always a highlight of the school year!
