Cantabile Success - QLD Youth Music Award

On Friday, May 16, the Robertson Cantabile Choir competed in the Queensland Youth Music Awards. Our section was held at Mansfield State High School. Cantabile competed against four other choirs. Two choirs received a Gold award, and three choirs received Silver. Cantabile was one of the choirs awarded GOLD!! They earned 87 marks, the highest score in that section, along with very positive comments from the adjudicator.

After the other two Senior Primary Choral sections, Cantabile’s 87 marks placed them third overall. The choir has worked very hard leading up to this competition, including many extra morning rehearsals — thank you to the parents for your support!

Winter Music Showcase Concert - 2 June 

Yesterday, both Cantabile and Poco Voci competed in Choral Fanfare. Our final performance for the term will be next Monday evening, June 2, at the Winter Music Showcase concert at 6:00 pm in the hall.

I am very proud of Cantabile’s dedication to improvement and their wonderful performances. Come and hear them, along with many of our other music ensembles, at the Winter Music Showcase concerts: 6:00 pm on Monday, June 2 (Bands and Choirs) and Tuesday, June 3 (String Ensembles).
